Economic Insecurity: A Socioeconomic Determinant of Mental Health

This paper used data from the British Household Panel Survey to explore the effects of economic insecurity on mental health in the working age UK population. While much literature exists on the negative effects of unemployment on mental health, economic insecurity is a relatively new category, defined as "the anxiety produced by the possible exposure to adverse economic events and by the anticipation of the difficulty to recover from them."
